The Glee Project to pick out Glee’s new stars

PHILIPPINES – JUNE 2011 – From the Emmy award-winning team behind hit musical drama Glee comes a new reality competition. Premiering June 13, The Glee Project follows 12 young talented performers as they compete for the chance of winning a seven-episode guest starring role on the third season of Glee.

Chosen from hundreds of thousands that auditioned across America and online, the contestants for The Glee Project make up an exceptional group of artists from both professional and amateur backgrounds. Narrowed down each episode through intensive rounds of workshops, singing, dancing and acting-based assignments.

Judging them every episode is the team behind Glee: creator Ryan Murphy, casting director Robert Ulrich and choreographer Zach Woodlee. Offering advice and support to the contestants are Glee series regulars who will appear as guest mentors in each episode. Fil-American Darren Criss is the first to mentor the hopefuls in the series premiere. A recent visitor to Manila, Criss joined the cast of Glee last season and won hearts as Blaine of Dalton Academy Warblers.

The young performers come from all different backgrounds and bring with them different ideals and characters. Hailing from large cities such as New York, Atlanta and Los Angeles as well as small towns like Paducah, Kentucky and Derry City, Ireland. No matter their differences, they share one dream and that is to star on Glee.
