AD STARS 2017 sees TBWASantiago Mangada Puno’s two Golds, one Grand Prix lead list of Filipino honorees

BUSAN – Another festival, another set of honors for TBWA\Santiago Mangada Puno. Thier cupboards already full after wins including Lotus Roots at ADFEST and Kidlat Awards in March, a D&AD Pencil in April, and an Act Responsible Cannes tribute in June, the ‘Correcting History’ campaign reaps yet even more international recognition. On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of AD STARS, the agency’s work with the Campaign Against The Return of the Marcoses to Malacañang (CARMMA) won two Gold Awards, as well as the coveted Grand Prix here in South Korea.

Among the many accolades won by the campaign were Gold in Branded Information Videos, Gold in Film Craft Script for ‘Archimedes Trajano,’ as well as the Grand Prix in Diverse Insights. Additionally, a Silver in Film was given for Corporate/Institution, Silver for Public Service Advertising (Human Rights) for ‘Archimedes Trajano,’ Bronze in the Direct category (Use of digital in a direct marketing campaign), Crystal in Promotion (Use of digital in a promotion campaign), as well as Bronze in both Public Service Advertising (Human Rights) and Public Service Advertising (Education)

In addition, TBWA\Santiago Mangada Puno earned Silver for the ‘Dirty Watercolor’ campaign for the ABS-CBN Kapamilya Foundation for Outdoor in Live Advertising and Events, a Silver each for Outdoor in Billboards and Posters for ‘Dirty Watercolor: Big Fish,’ ‘Dirty Watercolor: Sabina,’ and ‘Dirty Watercolor Poster Design – Sabina.’ ‘Dirty Watercolor: Big Fish’ also earned Bronze in Print (Illustration), and ‘Dirty Watercolor: Sabina.’ In Public Service Advertising, ‘Dirty Water Color Exhibit,’ ‘Dirty Watercolor: Sabina, and ‘Dirty Watercolor: Big Fish’ were each awarded Crystal.

Fresh from winning their first Agency of the Year honor just last month, Publicis JimenezBasic joined the metals party with Crystal for ‘Mask’ for Globe, a Crystal in Media for Integrated Media Campaign, and a Bronze in Film for Finance/Services/Entertainment and Leisure.

Y&R Philippines won Crystal in Promotion (Use of exhibitions and installations) for ‘Liter Lottery’ on behalf of Caltex (Chevron).

‘FAKEBLOK’ by BBDO Guerrero for the National Union of Journalists of the Philippines won Crystal for Interactive Web Platforms. The agency also won Crystal for Print (Art Direction) for ‘Beyond the Ordinary World’ on behalf of Syn Music.

Not to be outdone, McCann Worldgroup Philippines proved that their wins at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity were no fluke with four wins in Busan. In Radio (Music/Sound Design), ‘Fully Booked “Lives – Frank”’ won Crystal, in Radio (Scriptwriting), Fully Booked “Lives – Hannah” won Silver. ‘Maggi Dim Dads “Pedro” earned Crystal on behalf of Nestle Philippines for Radio (Food). Lastly, for Radio (Finance/Services/Entertainment and Leisure/Travel), ‘Fully Booked “Lives – Nicky”’ was given Bronze.
