PHILIPPINES – AUGUST 2, 2011 – Bates 141 has appointed Mitos Borromeo as consultant for its Manila office. Borromeo will play the role of a senior mentor to the employees and new business rain maker. The announcement follows the departure of Bates 141 Manila CEO Angel Antonio, who ended her stint with the agency last week.

“I am pleased to welcome Mitos to the Bates family. Mitos is an exceptional talent. She has held substantial leadership positions at top media and ad agencies, and has an impressive portfolio of multinational and local clients in her experience. Before taking on the lead as CEO at GroupM Philippines from 2004 to 2010, Borromeo was Managing Director at MindShare Philippines from 2004 to 2006. Under her leadership, MindShare and GroupM respectively won the Philippines’ Media Agency of the Year for four consecutive years from 2005 to 2008.

Borromeo was previously Managing Director at JWT Philippines and worked at Lowe in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines.

Said Shubho Sarkar, CEO, Southeast Asia, “On behalf of our team in Southeast Asia, I would like to congratulate Mitos on her appointment. We look forward to working closely with her to build up our collective strengths in talent, knowledge and category experience across the region.”

“This is a great opportunity to grow our agency by engaging our clients with fresh thinking about their business ambitions and challenges, and delivering superior work to help them create fresh conversations with their consumers. I am very much looking forward to working with our team in the Philippines and across Southeast Asia,” added Borromeo.
