SINGAPORE – FOX Sports Asia has announced an extension of the long-term broadcast relationship with Tennis Australia for the Australian Open. The 4-year renewal of linear TV (Pay and Terrestrial) and OTT/digital rights, covering Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Korea, Brunei, Cambodia, East Timor, Laos, Mongolia, Myanmar and Papua New Guinea, will see the network broadcast the Australian Open live and exclusive from 2018 to 2021. The agreement also includes tournaments in the Australian Open Series – Apia International Sydney (ATP), Brisbane International (ATP), the Hopman Cup, and the World Tennis Challenge – as well as the Laver Cup.

“FOX Sports is proud to extend our relationship with Tennis Australia as the exclusive broadcast home in Asia for the Australian Open, a truly unique sporting event. We look forward to continue to give fans the most compelling viewing experience across our entire network, including FOX Sports television channels, FOXSportsAsia.com and FOX+.”, said Italo Zanzi, Executive Vice-President and Managing Director, Sports, APAC & the Middle East, FOX Networks Group.

Tennis Australia CEO, Craig Tiley, added, “Our tournament is much more than just the first Grand Slam of the year, as it marks the start of the global annual sporting calendar through four weeks of world class events during Australia’s summer of tennis and, of course, the beginning of the Grand Slam season. We are delighted to have taken our relationship with FOX Sports to a whole new level and we are proud to be a part of the Home of Grand Slam Tennis in Asia.”

The deal will see fans across Asia continue to enjoy more than 274 hours of live Australian Open coverage, with up to 16 simultaneous court feeds and approximately 550 hours of programming for this iconic tournament. All of the action will be available on the linear TV network – FOX Sports, FOX Sports 2 and FOX Sports 3 – as well as on the FOX Sports Asia and FOX+ apps, live and on-demand, with additional coverage of news, results and videos on foxsportsasia.com.
