LINE Corporation's Go Mizushima will be keynote speaker at AD Tech in AD STARS 2017

BUSAN - This year’s keynote speaker at AD Tech in AD STARS is Go Mizushima from LINE Corporation in Japan.

Mizushima worked at Hakuhodo Inc. for more than 10 years. “Most of the time, I found I could solve my clients’ marketing problems using common marketing approaches,” he says.

“Two years ago, however, I joined LINE, where I was tasked with marketing LINE’s services, and it wasn’t long before I realized that I was at a loss. The well-established approaches I had learned at the advertising agency and used successfully for so many clients no longer worked well.”

At AD Tech, Mizushima will dive into some of the new approaches he has been experimenting with since joining LINE Corporation.

He says: “In this presentation, I will share LINE’s approach to marketing and explain why my previous experiences did not apply here. I believe that this case study goes beyond just IT service marketing, and can help people understand many products in other industries.”

As for his personal philosophy, he believes: “Marketing is the process of making the circle of empathy as big as possible. In order to do so, I keep the following in my mind, envisioning as art, planning with science, and doing with passionate heart – because we can only create the future we can envision.”

Mizushima graduated from Boston University with a BA, International Relations before deciding to embark on a career in advertising. His first role was as Strategic Planner at Hakuhodo, and since 2015 he has worked as a brand manager for LINE and LINE Pay at LINE Corporation.
