McCann New York’s “Fearless Girl” took home The One Show’s top honor

NEW YORK – McCann New York and State Street Global Advisors’ “Fearless Girl” won The One Show’s prestigious Best of Show award during the second night of the said event where creative luminaries gather annually to recognize and celebrate creative masterpieces in the fields of advertising, design, interactive and branded entertainment. 

The Best of Show is awarded to the most outstanding creative work from a pool of 19,823 entries received this year from 73 countries. In addition, the firm also won other esteemed awards such as nine Gold Pencils, Best of Discipline accolades for Direct Marketing, and the first ever CMO Pencil given by some of the industry’s top marketers. 

An iconic statue of a young girl, “Fearless Girl” was erected on Wall Street in honor of last year’s International Women’s Day. Standing tall and defiant, Fearless Girl symbolizes female leadership and encourages companies to place more women into powerful positions in the organization. The statue immediately became a global sensation within 24 hours. 

The One Show is spearheaded by The One Club in 1973. The One Club is a non-profit organization founded in 1961 and started as the Advertising Writers Association of New York. In 1969, it became The Copy Club and then changed their name to The One Club in 1979. 

The One Club advocates excellence in advertising and design in all its forms. It is also devoted to heightening creative work in the industry. Moreover, The One Club also inspires and educates students of the business and trains future global creatives through scholarships, portfolio reviews, and yearly student exhibitions and competitions.
