Yolk and Speedpost join forces for the Small World Project

ASIA-PACIFIC – SINGAPORE, JANUARY 1, 2012: One of the many organizations who spread love during the holidays were Yolk, A Grey Group Company, who partnered with Speedpost, Singapore’s leading delivery solution to provide for less fortunate children through the Small World Project.

Working with Singapore-based non-profit organization, Blessings in  a Bag, a total of ten children’s organizations were selected from Australia, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Japan, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and the USA.

Donations were to put in a 20kg Speedbox box. A QR code in each box should be scanned so each participating company can view their adoptive charity and its needs.

“We believe it takes small steps by a group of individuals to create change in our world and this is our way of trying to do our part”, explained Mr. Benjamin Tan, CEO of Yolk.

Other companies who shared Yolk’s vision for the project were BLK A Pictures, Color TV, HBO, I-S Magazine, Grey Group Singapore, LinkedIn, Metro, Power 98 and Red Dot Design Museum. The boxes were given to the  companies on December 14 and were collected on December 20.

Speedpost shipped the boxes to the respective charities for the children to enjoy during the holidays. The children’s organizations were each given a disposable camera to document the children receiving and using the ts, which will be sent back to Yolk.

“There’s always a constant need for help in the world. We are beyond excited to be part of ‘The Small World Project’ because  we’ll be able to do things a little differently and help more children around the world,” said Ms. Emily Teng, the founder of Blessings in a Bag. Teng also expressed her willingness to continue the project every year to provide companies to give back to the community.

“Sure, it isn’t by far the most revolutionary idea but it’s a start, and I think it will be a very humbling  experience for all of us,” said Ben. “We are just really excited to see this idea becoming something real,” he added.

The entire process will be documented in a series of photographs and videos for public release in early 2012. For more information, please visit www.yolk.com.sg/thesmallworldproject/.
