Bench taps Interbrand for logo facelift

MANILA, FEBRUARY 27, 2013 – A subtle change has taken place with internationally-renowned Filipino retail brand Bench: their logo, once in all lowercase, now appears to have changed to an all-uppercase one.

The brand’s spokesperson said that the changes made to the Bench logo are simply minor refinements for a brand identity that’s well established and “required some TLC and guidance around its implementation”. The brand tapped London-based shop Interbrand, the same agency responsible for the creation of logos for McDonald’s, bing!, and GE among others.

“The more exciting aspects of Bench’s visual evolution are still to be seen.  Interbrand has created an iconic, flexible new symbol that reflects Bench’s new brand positioning – Live Life With Flavour – and will allow the brand to continually innovate, excite and refresh its brand image for the future,” the spokesperson said.

The change comes with the company’s aim to develop a strong international brand.

The logo change is just the tip of the iceberg as in the coming months people will see more of the new symbol which reflects what the brand is “iconic, bold, creative and always evolving”.

“Bench will continue to explore new ways on marketing our lifestyle brand, to be a recognized world brand, among the best world brands,” the spokesperson said.
