Local komiks such as Mythopolis and Lovebag will be available at the second Komiket on February 20

QUEZON CITY – The first big komiks event of 2016 is upon us. Now on its second year, Komiket, the Filipino komiks, books, and art market, is taking place on February 20, 2016 from 9:00am until 7:00pm at Centris Elements. Over 300 local artists will be on hand to meet, greet, and draw for fans of the local komiks scene.

Among the new releases to be seen will be Lovebag from A. Tango and Vee Jocson, the komiks anthology known as Blue Indie Valentine, the fourth issue of Ligaya from Addie Onday and Faye Bergonia, Gaming Fridays volume 1 by Tristan Yuvienco, and Mythopolis #1 from Marco Manalac, JV Tanjuatco, Jim Jimenez, and Gener Pedrina.

Several local artists will also be selling printed materials and will be available for commissioned pieces such as Freely Abrigo, John Becaro, Sam dela Torre, Toto Madayag, Mel Casipit, and Loser Mangaka.

Blasting off to greater heights, this year's Komiket will also mark the first ever Komiket Awards, honoring the best work from the past year.

After the success of last year's inaugural Komiket, more exhibitors, vendors, and fans of local komiks and pop culture are expected to make their presence felt this time around. Expect a few more surprises when you make your way to Centris Elements on February 20 for Komiket 2016!
