Teeny Gonzales forms indie agency Seven A.D.

After weeks of speculation, former DDB executive creative director Teeny Gonzales announced that she is opening Seven A.D., Manila’s newest independent ad agency.

Joining her in this start-up are her former deputy ECD Russell Molina and five other colleagues who broke away so famously from DDB last October. These are the same six creatives and suits who moved with her from Harrison Communication to DDB in 2006.

Despite efforts by the DDB regional team to convince Gonzales to stay within the network, she has decided to launch Seven A.D. as an independent entity. Word has it that Peter Wilken of The Brand Company (and  former CEO of Ogilvy Manila) was her advisor on this new venture.

Gonzales first gained prominence in McCann Erickson where she was creative director. In 2000, she was eventually seconded to Harrison Communication where she became its executive creative director. Her ear for language is well known, giving her the ability to pick out  catchphrases on the cusp of mainstream and turn them into popular taglines.  Among her more famous campaigns are Royal Tru Orange “Ito ang gusto ko”, McDonald’s “Burger, burger” and Ako Mismo.
