MANILA – October 8, 2013 – The Advertising Board of the Philippines (AdBoard) extended its relief operations drive to the province of Laguna, where over 1,200 flood-stricken families received goods donated by the marketing communications industry.
AdBoard 2013 Chairman Nonoy Niles led the board of directors and volunteers in the relief operations on September 29 at the Provincial Capitol of Sta. Cruz, Laguna.
"The typhoons and monsoon rains that devastated the country last August left 69 barangays in Laguna inundated. Five provinces – San Pedro, Biñan, Sta. Rosa, Cabuyao and Calamba – were under state of calamity. Thousands of families were displaced in different evacuation centers and are in dire need of relief assistance," AdBoard said.
The September 29 relief operations were the second wave of the AdBoard’s CSR initiative after they brought donations to 600 flood-stricken families in Pasay City last August.
"As relief packages continue to arrive from the kind-hearted members of the marketing communications industry, AdBoard is also sending boxes of goods to evacuees in Zamboanga City," AdBoard said, thanking the generous companies, associations and individuals who made the second relief operation possible:
