MANILA – October 22, 2013 – IPG Mediabrands, the media innovation unit of Interpublic Group, has appointed Rommel Mariano as the ASEAN Regional Business Director, overseeing the global media business for J&J across 6 key markets: Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.
Mariano will act as the core client contact, coordinating category approaches, setting strategic direction and implementation planning for J&J’s range of FMCG brands and leveraging Mediabrands’ communications, research and analytics expertise, IPG Mediabrands said in a press release.
A hybrid planner with a focus on FMCG, healthcare and automotive advertising, Mariano is tasked to drive both online and offline media opportunities for J&J and spearhead the design of meaningful communications experiences for the brand’s key categories across ASEAN region.
Prior to joining Mediabrands, Mariano held a series of account leadership positions at creative agencies where he lead and managed day-to-day operations and financials for the agency as well led regional account coordination stewarding strategic thinking, creative development and execution for clients.
Until recently, he was the Business Unit Director at Publicis Manila, where he led digital projects for Nestle. Mariano’s previous roles included strategic and creative deliverables for key accounts like Honda, Unilever, Pepsi, P&G and Nokia at JWT Vietnam, Leo Burnett Singapore and Manila and at Ace Saatchi & Saatchi, Manila.
