RIO DE JANEIRO – November 12, 2013 – Pereira & O’Dell has announced a second operation in Brazil, now in Rio de Janeiro, on the heels of its B2W Digital win, the agency said in a press release.
The Carioca agency will be lead by Michel Lent, Managing Director of Pereira & O’Dell in Brazil, who will divide his time between Rio and São Paulo offices. B2W Digital, the largest online retail business in Latin America, selected Pereira & O’Dell as its agency of record will become Pereira & O’Dell Brazil’s largest client.
According to B2W, after a competition that lasted three months and involved four agencies, Pereira & O’Dell was selected for its digital prowess and experience in more developed markets in e-commerce. With the new office, Pereira & Dell continues its global expansion plan.
Within one year of opening its first Brazilian outpost in Sao Paulo, the agency signed a lease for an expanded office in August with a team of 30 people commanding brands including Fiat, Natura and Perdigao.
"Winning the B2W account was a big step for the globalization of the work that Pereira & O’Dell is developing. Rio de Janeiro has always been seen as a strategic market for us and opening with B2W is a great achievement," said Michel Lent.
Within 24 hours of posting open positions at the new outpost, the agency received over 400 resumes. "We’re looking for professionals who have experience in cross platform content distribution, especially with a digital background which is the work we intend to develop with B2W," said Liliane Badaró of Pereira & O’Dell Rio.
B2W is the parent company for retail sites Submarino.com, Americanas.com, Shoptime and Ingresso.com. The company has operations in Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Mexico with plans for expansion in India, Uruguai, China and USA.
