AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND — Spark NZ and Shine Limited have launched a health and wellness programme for Spark Business customers. The programme was developed after research conducted by Spark revealed poor health and wellbeing among New Zealand’s small and medium business owners. A staggering 67% of the 300 surveyed felt that the stress of work negatively impacts their physical health, levels of happiness and personal life. While 87% of those surveyed recognised that prioritising health and wellness in the workplace is hugely beneficial to their businesses. But cost and time were major barriers that prevented them from being able to do this.

Based on these insights, Recharge by Spark was created. An exclusive health and wellness programme for Spark Business customers. The programme aims to improve the health of business owners through three wellness pillars: nourish, move and calm. Working out, eating well and focused breathing.

Spark’s Lead for Small and Medium Business, Greg Clark, believes Spark has an opportunity to help.
“We’re committed to the health and wellness of business owners and are excited to launch Recharge by Spark. To help them be the healthiest, happiest versions of themselves.”

Recharge by Spark was created in collaboration with some of New Zealand’s leading business and brands. It’s built on partnerships with Les Mills, Take a Breath and a number of innovative SMB Kiwi food and nutrition companies. All to create a holistic platform that helps Spark Business customers move more, improve their diet and manage their stress.

Oliver Green, Shine Integrated Creative Director said: “We all work hard. Sometimes too hard. It’s easy to forget to eat well, take time to decompress, exercise and spend time with the people we love. We wanted to remind the people who own and operate New Zealand’s small and medium enterprises that they are their business’s best asset. So they need to look after themselves – and then give them the tools to make it easier to do that.”

The program was launched with a 60-second piece of AV set in a diverse range of New Zealand workplaces, featuring a cast of empty chairs – symbolizing business people who have got up from their workspaces and left to recharge. The AV was directed by Sweetshop’s Dylan Pharazyn.
