ASIA-PACIFIC – JAKARTA, INDONESIA, MAY 7, 2012: McCann Worldgroup Indonesia has appointed Gary Caulfield as executive creative director, effective immediately.

Caulfield will work closely with Berndt Soderbom, McCann Worldgroup’s president director to strengthen and drive creative excellence for the agency’s expanding client list.

“Talent is our top priority. Gary’s deep knowledge and creative insight into the Indonesian market, having been based here for 12 years, will be an invaluable asset to our clients’ business, as well as our own, as we continue our transformation to bring creativity and innovation back to the agency’s core,” said Berndt Soderbom, McCann Worldgroup’s president director.

Prior to joining McCann Worldgroup, Gary was Group ECD at Ogilvy Indonesia, a position he held for the last nine years. Commenting on his appointment, Gary Caulfield said: “I’m excited to be joining McCann Worldgroup, their impressive client portfolio, passion and energy for collaborative thinking lays a strong foundation for developing breakthrough integrated marketing solutions for our clients’ brands.”

Gary’s approach is to build depth of expertise within his teams. He has hired and mentored countless young Indonesian creatives, which resulted in his last agency being recognised for winning Indonesia’s first global and effectiveness awards for Nestle. Campaign Brief Asia also named the agency Indonesia’s ‘Agency of the Year’ three years running.

McCann Worldgroup Indonesia handles some of the countries leading brands, including: Nestle, Coca-Cola, L’Oreal, Pizza Hut Delivery, Smartfren and Cussons.

“With consumer confidence strengthening and attractive growth predicted for the market — in light of the European economic woes — Indonesia remains one of the region’s growth engines, providing enormous opportunities for our clients businesses as well as our own,” concluded Soderbom.
