ASIA-PACIFIC – BANGKOK, MAY 8,  2012: JWT Bangkok has launched Degree, a standalone design company which will serve as JWT’s  design centre of excellence servicing both network and independent clients in South East Asia and beyond.

The company’s services included brand consulting, corporate and visual identity development, retail space design, packaging innovation, as well as interactive and 3D design. Degree is comprised of 18 people with varied backgrounds, spanning architecture, fashion, product design, graphic design, events and traditional advertising.  The team recently moved into a brand new office designed by Degree staff.

“We have put together a talented team of designers and brand consultants with extensive experience in creating design solutions tailored to address the specific issues faced by clients, from long term brand issues to more tactical strategies,” said Karl Kongkham, business director of Degree.

Degree’s team has worked on dozens of projects, including designing a retail outlet for Epson Singapore, packaging designs for Kleenex Thailand and Navy Cut India, the annual report for TMB bank, visual identity studies for the Museum of Modern Art in Calcutta, Vietnam Post and various property developments in Thailand. They’ve also designed innovative print and out-of-home ads for clients like Converse and Unilever.

“We have experienced a growing demand of more strategically-led design solutions recently, and we’re now at a point where it makes sense to establish and brand this business as a standalone entity.” said Bob Hekkelman, CEO of JWT Bangkok.

This week, the company launched a new website at www.degreebkk.com to showcase its portfolio and highlight its services.

“Everything man made is designed inspired by what we trust the most – our senses”, says Hans Mueller, executive creative director of Degree. “Design is key in every life stage of a brand and a magnificent trigger for brand and campaign ideas”
