THE PHILIPPINES, SEPTEMBER 10, 2012 – David Guerrero, Chairman and CCO of BBDO Guerrero/Proximity Philippines in Manila, is among the AdFest Collective, a group formed by senior peers from the creative advertising and production industries in Asia Pacific, which will help advise on the development of AdFest for the future.

The collective, announced by the AdFest Working Committee, draws its strength each year from invited individuals in the creative industry and will join Vinit Suraphongchai, chairman of the working committee, and Jimmy Lam, president of AdFest, and use the combined expertise and experience of each year’s participants to innovate content and steer the vision and strategic direction for AdFest.

Due to its non-profit nature, “AdFest has always been owned by its audience and participants. We welcome this group of friends as executive members, who will help us to ensure that the festival evolves and refreshes its content every year. It is critical to our success that we continue to reflect the needs and developments of the people who attend and support AdFest and look to it for ideas, learning, encouragement, connections and a celebration of the fantastic works that are produced in the region year after year,” Suraphongchai said.
Jimmy Lam, President of ADFEST stated, “ADFEST was born of a passion for the great works that have been, are and will be produced in Asia Pacific. The ADFEST Collective will champion that passion and help us extend the ADFEST legacy, to ensure it is always embraced fairly and fully and in the most relevant way for our supporters, friends and peers.”
However, Lam clarified that that collective is not a token “think tank” a la committee. “This group of creative leaders together with Suraphongchai will be the collective thinkers, decision makers and supervisors on different tasks which help drive AdFest forward.
“All of us are equal, as in one man, one vote. The operation team in Bangkok will implement the decisions,” Lam said.
The ADFEST Collective will meet regularly to add its input initially to the organization for the 16th Asia Pacific Advertising Festival, which will take place at PEACH (Pattaya Exhibition and Conference Hall), The Royal Cliff Hotels Group, Pattaya, Thailand from 17-19 March 2013.
