MANILA, PHILIPPINES — RC Cola’s film entitled ‘Family’ has been declared a finalist in the 2020/2021 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, considered to be the Oscars of advertising.
It made it in ‘Film,’ one of the show’s toughest categories.
‘Family’ was the only entry that made it in that category from the Philippines. It was created by independent ideas agency, GIGIL.
Previously, RC Cola ‘Family’ was part of the campaign that was named by adobo magazine as ‘the best ad of the Philippines 2020.’ It has won silvers in the Australian AWARD Awards and the ADFEST, an Award of Merit in The One Show, and brought home two shortlists from Spikes Asia. It is presently a finalist in YouTube Works. It was featured by celebrity Ellen DeGeneres on ‘The Ellen Show.’ The film has been viewed 24.2M times, and has chalked up 241.4K shares.
The film has been studied in the Asian Institute of Management, and the De La Salle University. More importantly, RC Cola ‘Family’ made sales of RC Cola Mega increase by 67%.
Cannes Lions has honored world-class creativity since 1954, celebrating those who have produced game-changing bodies of work, time and time again.
The winners will be announced on June 25.
