MANILA, PHILIPPINES — 2018 National Artist for film, Kidlat Tahimik, is one of the must-watch case studies on the last day of the Creative Futures’ digital conference happening today, June 29.
Kidlat Tahimik will end the two-day conference with a talk and short film about empowering communities through storytelling.
Creative Futures is set to produce a robust mix of case studies and programs that are already existing and rolling out. Highlighting the film sector, urban planning, and other creative fields only shows that Filipino creatives are diverse. “We’re an archipelago and we’re more varied than our neighbors in the region. We’re not homogenous, that makes us more dynamic,” shared Erwin Romulo, Program Director of Creative Futures.
Creative Futures is the fourth edition of Create Philippines, a signature event organized by the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) for the creative sector. The event is a take-off point for realizing the economic potential and business viability of the creative industry.
