MANILA, PHILIPPINES — On September 25, 2021, the Cultural Center of the Philippines Visual Arts and Museum Division (CCP VAMD) and the Association of Pinoyprintmakers launched the 20/30 Limited Edition Print Portfolio, which was produced in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Cultural Center of the Philippines in 2020.

20/30 comes in two special sets. Folio I, in editions of twenty, is composed of prints by National Artist BenCab, with Alfredo Juan Aquilizan, Virgilio Aviado, Elmer Borlongan, Benjamin Torrado Cabrera, Imelda Cajipe Endaya, Fil Delacruz, Neil Doloricon+, Jess Flores, Ofelia Gelvezón-Téqui, Raul Isidro, Manuel Ocampo, Rod Paras Perez+, Rodolfo Samonte, and Juvenal Sansó. Folio II, on the other hand, is composed of prints in editions of thirty by artists Ambie Abaño, Leonard Aguinaldo, Mars Bugaoan, Kristen Cain, Salvador Ching, Joey Cobcobo, Janos Delacruz, Yas Doctor, Noel EL Farol, Eugene Jarque, Vilia Jefremovas, Lenore RS Lim, Angelo Magno, Hershey Malinis, Jonathan Olazo, Caroline Ongpin, Renan Ortiz, Henrielle Pagkaliwangan, Radel Paredes, Christina Quisumbing Ramilo, Rhoda Recto+, Jun-Jun Sta. Ana, Suchin Teoh, Wesley Valenzuela and Anton Villaruel. 20/30 serves both as an educational tool and collectible for those interested in Philippine art. Included in the folios are exquisite examples of printmaking methods such as relief printing, intaglio and serigraph printing.

In his essay created for the folio, artist Virgilio Aviado speaks of the need for art especially in desolate times, and in its transformative capacity for alleviation from isolation and as a vehicle for communal delights, both for the artist creating it and for the audience appreciating it. The 20/30 print folio project, while ideated before the rise of the Covid19 pandemic, has been a channel for the participating artists to deal with the difficulties of our time and to give back to the institutions that support their practice. The proceeds of 20/30 I and II will go to fundraising programs of the Cultural Center of the Philippines and the Association of Pinoyprintmakers.
