PARIS, FRANCE — Bulgari Hotels & Resorts is delighted to announce that the Bulgari Hotel Paris, located in the heart of the city, in Avenue George V, is now officially open. On December 1st , a glittering reception and dinner for sixty guests hosted by Bulgari CEO Jean-Christophe Babin and Hotel General Manager Sylvain F. Ercoli, was held at Il Ristorante – Niko Romito of the hotel to celebrate this new important milestone. Guests at this private event included model and singer Carla Bruni, model Tina Kunakey, actors and Bulgari ambassadors François Civil and Adèle Exarchopoulos, Léa Seydoux and model and philanthropist Natalia Vodianova.
The celebration began with the unveiling of a site specific artwork by the famous artist Yan Pei Ming created exclusively for the hotel: an oil-painting portrait of the Italian cinema icon Monica Vitti wearing a Bulgari high jewelry necklace. The new artwork was presented by Bulgari CEO Jean- Christophe Babin and artist Yan Pei Ming and now hangs in the hotel lobby above the famous Maison’s signature eight-pointed star encased into the floor.
The opening of the Bulgari Hotel Paris in the heart of the capital’s Golden Triangle is a landmark event on the Paris hotel scene as it brings to the City of Light a residential experience enhancing the Italian lifestyle in harmony with local history and tradition.
Sylvain F. Ercoli, General Manager of the new Bulgari Hotel Paris said: “I am delighted to be providing leadership at the Bulgari Hotel Paris and to have the honor of opening this new jewel in the Bulgari crown. I am also looking forward to leading my team of world-class professionals to deliver the impeccable service for which the Italian jeweler of the hotel industry is rightly famous.”
This new combination of Roman glamour with Parisian sophistication was celebrated by a cocktail reception in the hotel Lounge combined with bespoke visits to the exceptional 400 square meter Bulgari Penthouse featuring 600 square meters of terraces and gardens overlooking the iconic sights of Paris, including the spectacularly lit majesty of the Eiffel Tower. Following an authentic aperitivo during which ‘Eddy’, the famous Italian magician, entertained the guests with his incredible tricks, while delicious canapés such as Bomba with Vitello Tonnato, Frittata di Pasta, and Scampo in kataifi were served, the guests moved to Il Ristorante – Niko Romito . Here, a dinner prepared by multi award winning Italian chef Niko Romito, who revisits the Italian dining tradition with his own cutting-edge techniques, was served to the guests. Tortelli al tartufo bianco and Guancia di Vitello al Barolo, were the protagonists of the delicious menu, paired with some extraordinary Imperiale bottles of Sassicaia 2016.
The evening continued in the warm and sophisticated atmosphere of the Bulgari Bar, where the light from the back-lit onyx bar brings the black lacquered walls to life, and guests were treated with a private concert by Carla Bruni, one of the iconic ambassadors of Bulgari whose deep-rooted Italian-French heritage echoes the same values of excellence, creativity, beauty and shared emotions of the Maison.
“We are particularly proud to add a new gem to the crown of the Bulgari Hotels & Resorts collection with the opening the Bulgari Hotel Paris. Following the recent opening of the flagship Bulgari store on Place Vendôme, it is a real honor for us to have this second opportunity to bring the best of Italian design, lifestyle, culture and luxury hospitality to the heart of Paris,” said Bulgari CEO Jean- Christophe Babin.
Located in the capital’s historic home of luxury, the Bulgari Hotel Paris offers 76 luxuriously decorated rooms and suites designed – like the Hotel’s public spaces – by the Milan-based architectural studio of Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel, who collaborated with architects Valode & Pistre on the renovation of the façade and the building construction.
