MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Integrated communications company Havas Ortega announced the appointment of Jay Lim as the new Chief Operating Officer of Havas Media Group. The appointment took effect on February 1.
Lim will be responsible for the continued growth of the Havas Media and Arena Media brands of the Havas Media Group. He will also contribute to the introduction of new products and services in 2022 and beyond.
Lim is joining the Havas group with two decades of experience in strategy, analytics, and client management. As General Manager and Chief Media Officer of Publicis Media for the past five years, he has built an impressive track record of leading its agency brands with transformational changes that led to business growth.
He will be reporting directly to industry legend Hermie De Leon, who is currently Havas Media Group’s Chief Executive Officer and Havas Ortega’s Managing Partner. As such, Lim will already be assuming the leadership role of Havas Media Group in his role as COO.
De Leon also announced that Lim’s appointment is part of the transition plan the agency has put in place to ensure business continuity as she prepares for her eventual retirement late this year. One of the pillars of the Philippine advertising industry, De Leon will be stepping down as CEO on June 30 and will be handing the leadership role in Havas Media Group to Lim. She will remain a Managing Partner of Havas Ortega.
“I look forward to working closely with Jay as we collaborate on bringing the Havas Media Group to greater heights. His brand of leadership and experience in strategy and analytics is a huge asset to us as we create meaningful media experiences for our clients and brands,” De Leon said.
Jos Ortega, CEO of the Havas Ortega Group, added, “Jay will bring a fresh perspective to the agency as we elevate our position in a rapidly changing media environment. He will definitely play a key role in helping us achieve our mission of creating a meaningful difference to brands, to businesses, and to people.”
