MANILA, PHILIPPINES —Gushcloud’s exclusive talent Jessica Lee recently launched ‘TRABAHO: Try Ko Lang,’ a new online series where she tries her hand at various jobs in the Philippines. Episode 1 of ‘TRABAHO’ is available here.

Produced in partnership with Gushcloud International, the series aims to feature hardworking Filipinos and highlight the businesses that took the hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. Over five episodes, viewers will see Jessica Lee try different kinds of offline jobs in the Philippines that help drive the economy. The pilot episode featured Lee experiencing ‘a day in the life of a sari-sari store vendor’. With her signature bubbly personality, Lee will also go out on the streets as a fishball vendor, serve coffee lovers at a local coffee shop, show her fashion knowledge at a local tiangge store, and be the “Ate” at a popular food chain.

Known as the “Korean Ate,” Lee has amassed over 700,000 YouTube subscribers and almost 100,000 Instagram followers. She is famous for her videos about her previous K-Pop idol experience and showcasing her life in the Philippines and South Korea.

“I’m so excited to finally share TRABAHO with everyone. This series holds a special place in my heart because of what it represents. I haven’t been in the Philippines since the start of the pandemic and coming back here really opened my eyes to the realities of a lot of

Filipinos. People started to look for online opportunities and the threat that these jobs could one day be gone is always there. Through this series, I wanted my viewers to see the importance of these “offline” jobs to the Filipino people and culture,” said Lee.

Lee has also proved her strong presence offline. In the recently concluded LazLive show entitled, “Reel K-Hauls with Jessica Lee,” she launched and sold out her first merch collection of shirts, hats, socks, and tote bags. The show, which aims to bring the Korean experience to Lee’s Pinoy fans, marked the beginning of Gushcloud Live Commerce’s initiative to bring and explore new opportunities for digital talents.

“In GCX Studios, we focus on developing creators in both offline and online spaces and bringing them a global audience. Since working with Jessica, we’ve seen her potential to become one of the biggest digital stars in the industry, within and outside the Philippines. Her passion for creating impactful content shines in her videos and the positive responses from her community. We’re proud to be part of ‘TRABAHO’ and Jessica’s creator journey,” said Cor Caoile, Line Producer for GCX Studios, the digital media unit of Gushcloud International.

“We share Jessica’s excitement with the launch of her new series, ‘TRABAHO’. Having been long-time fans of her work, we have seen her bridge the gap between Filipino and Korean cultures on her platform. This new series further strengthens our shared goal of impact and creating tomorrow’s positive influence as collaborative partners,” said Jamie Paraso, Country Director of Gushcloud Philippines.
