LONDON – Ivan Massow, the first Conservative to declare his candidacy for the 2016 mayoral election, has hired LONDON Advertising to work on communicating his policy agenda for his election campaign.
The agency was awarded both Best Advertising Agency in the UK and Best Marketing Company in London, by the UK’s largest marketing publisher The Drum, at the Emirates Stadium in November.
Previously, as partners at M&C Saatchi, the management team at LONDON developed the 2005 Conservative Party General Election campaign “Are you thinking what we’re thinking?”. The campaign was declared by David Yelland in the Sun to be the best political advertising since Labour isn’t working, while the Daily Mirror called it ‘the best advertising of the election’.
In a recent interview, Lord (Tim) Bell said, ‘My current favourite ads are those created by LONDON. They are brilliant. They remind me of Saatchi & Saatchi in its prime.’
Ivan Massow commented, ‘I was immediately struck by the agency’s passion for London – not least because they have named the company after our great city – but, perhaps more importantly, I was impressed by their alignment with the key elements of my policy agenda to improve London for Londoners.’
Michael Moszynski, CEO of LONDON Advertising, added, ‘We are thrilled to be working with such a strong candidate for Mayor of London. Ivan’s entrepreneurial can-do attitude is exactly what the UK’s capital requires. Applying the creativity, energy and enterprise of Londoners to address London’s challenges – and opportunities – is a very smart approach.’
The agency’s remit will include leading the creative content of the campaign across advertising, online and social media as well as developing innovative and entrepreneurial ways to drive fundraising.
