SINGAPORE – BBDO Guerrero, Starcom MediaVest  Group Philippines, and MRM//McCann emerged as the top Philippine winners, grabbing gold in their respective categories at the Campaign Asia-Pacific Agency of the Year awards 2014.

BBDO Guerrero was the top Philippine creative agency, taking the gold from DM9JaymeSyfu, which had won the award for the past two years. The win caps off a winning year for the agency, whose ‘Labels Against Women’ campaign for Pantene earned awards such as a Bronze Spike and a Cannes Cyber Lion, and whose ‘Unselfie’ campaign for Typhoon Haiyan relief bagged a Cannes Bronze Lion and a Bronze Spike to name a few.

The agency also  made it to the list of Warc’s top 20 creative agencies in the world, and has won the business of the Philippine Board of Investments.

Taking the silver in the Philippine creative agency category was DM9 JaymeSyfu, which won gold in 2013 and 2012. DM9 was the agency of the year at the 17th Philippine AOY held by the 4As Philippines earlier in the year.

Meanwhile, Leo Burnett Manila snapped up the bronze metal in the category. The agency recently picked up a gold metal in this year’s Clio awards for it’s ‘Iceberg’ print ad for the World Wide Fund for Nature, as well as a bronze for ‘Aid Couture’ for Procter & Gamble.

Even after passing its digital duties for Coca-Cola on to OgilvyOne earlier in the year, MRM//McCann Philippines grabbed the gold for Philippine Digital Agency of the Year in the same year that it picked up seven Boomerang awards and took over social media with its tweet for Kitkat in response to the Facebook outage in June.

On a regional level, MRM//McCann was also named Southeast Asia Digital Agency of the Year.

At the same time, DM9’s digital arm, Digit snapped up the silver award, while Ogilvy & Mather Philippines won the bronze in the category.

On the media side, Starcom MediaVest Group Philippines has upgraded from winning the bronze metal last year to taking the gold this year. In August, the agency topped the Recma agency-level rankings for the fourth straight year.

Meanwhile, the 2013 gold winner ZenithOptimedia Philippines was awarded the silver, and OMD Philippines won Bronze.

The winners of the Campaign Asia-Pacific Agency of the Year awards were revealed December 10 at an awards dinner at the Ritz Carlton, Millenia Singapore.
