David Guerrero is 2014 Creative of the Year at Southeast Asia AOYs

SINGAPORE – For the second year running, another Filipino creative bagged the top individual creative award in the regional Campaign Asia-Pacific Agency of the Year (AOY) awards with BBDO Guerrero chairman and chief creative officer David Guerrero being named Southeast Asia Creative of the Year for 2014.

The title was previously held by DM9 JaymeSyfu chairman and CCO Merlee Jayme.

At the same time, BBDO Guerrero was named the top Philippine creative agency, grabbing the gold metal, with the silver going to DM9 JaymeSyfu, and the bronze going to Leo Burnett Manila.

Guerrero was at the helm of the agency whose awards this year include the Philippines’ first ever Cannes Cyber Lion for its ’Labels Against Women’ campaign for Pantene, and a Bronze Lion among others for ‘Unselfie’ for Typhoon Haiyan relief.

Guerrero was also the second ranking executive creative director and third ranking copywriter in this year’s adobo Creative Rankings

Other Philippine representatives also won at the Southeast Asia AOY as runners-up.

Starcom MediaVest’s Veron Agustin was a runner-up as Account Person of the Year alongside Jian Yang of OMD Singapore, with the title going to Grey Group Singapore’s Tom Evans.

DDB Group Philippines president and CEO Gil G. Chua was a runner-up for Agency Head of the Year, with the award being won by Ogilvy & Mather Singapore’s Fiona Gordon.

At the same time, Jayme along with her partners at DM9 ,chief adviser Alex Syfu and general manager Ronald Barreiro, were runners-up for the Southeast Asia Talent Management Team of the Year. The winning team was made up of Tang Seok Hian, Kausern Hieu, Mitch Dauz, Ovidia Wang, and Marenna Theresia of Starcom MediaVest Group.
