GLOBAL – You know you’ve made it when haters start picking on your every move – an annoying truth that the stars of Adidas’ new campaign ‘There will be haters’ will undoubtedly be familiar with.
La Liga stars Luis Suarez of FC Barcelona and Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema, and James Rodriguez of Real Madrid all appear in the ad, which talks about one of the biggest, most pervasive voices of the social media generation: haters.
With hashtags flashing in big block letters across the screen, and video gamey graphics, the ad for the brand’s new boot range names all the things that haters, well, hate when it comes to these famous footballers.
“They hate it when you win, the way you celebrate, when you lift that trophy, kiss your finger. They hate the way everyone’s talking about you, that you’ve got the magic touch,” the ad goes.
It ends by saying, “They hate your shiny new boots.They hate your boots, ‘cos they wish they were in ’em.”
The campaign also integrates with social media, through the hashtag #ThereWillBeHaters.
