GLOBAL – BBDO Worldwide was once again named the top network of the 2014 Directory Big Won rankings, making it the number one network for seven of the eight years since the rankings launched in 2007.

The network overtook last year’s top placer, Ogilvy, which slid down to second.

Publicis ranked as the seventh top network in 2014, McCann Worldwide came in eighth place. JWT retained its position as ninth top network, along with Lowe Worldwide, which rounded out the top ten.

As top-ranking network, BBDO claims three spots on the list of top 10 creative agencies: Almap BBDO Sao Paulo (#4), BBDO New York (#5), and Impact BBDO Dubai (#6).

The creative agencies list was topped by Dentsu Tokyo,  whose ‘Sound of Honda’ campaign (in photo) was named the top campaign across media channels, with a total of eight Grand Prixs and 12 Golds from a slew of awards shows including D&AD and Cannes. The particular campaign, according to the Big Won editors’ notes, propelled the agency from 19th to 1st place.

Dentsu was followed by adam&eve DDB London in second place, whose ‘Sorry I Spent it on Myself’ campaign for Harvey Nichols helped boost it to its position, along with its John Lewis campaign, ‘The Bear and The Hare’.

Leo Burnett was also among the top creative agencies, placing third.

On the media side, Starcom Mediavest held its number one spot, followed by PHD and OMD.

The rankings were compiled for Directory magazine, which took data from 32 awards shows in 2014.
