LEYTE — Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal today visited today Typhoon Yolanda affected communities with Save the Children Philippines.
The charity, of which Her Royal Highness is President in the UK, has been working in the Visayas since Yolanda hit in November 2013, alongside communities to restore shelter and help families recover a means of income in the aftermath of one of the deadliest storms to ever make landfall.
The party visited the small community of Tagaytay to meet the families that Save the Children has been supporting and visited the school of Mariana Pono where the Royal party was treated to a song and a performance.
Country Director for Save the Children Philippines, Ned Olney said, “Having Her Royal Highness visiting Save the Children projects is a huge boost to the staff and communities who need to be reminded that they’re not forgotten after such an incredible process of recovery across the country.”
Her Royal Highness spends a significant amount of time visiting Save the Children projects overseas and in the UK, as well as meeting supporters across Britain.
