Awards: YouTube Works Awards announces 2022 jury

MANILA, PHILIPPINES – YouTube Works Awards, in partnership with Kantar and adobo magazine, is returning for its second year and brands and agencies may already submit entries via this link. Last week, it has also announced the members of its 2022 jury lineup.

The jury is composed of marketers, digital experts, directors, creatives, and content creators from all over the country. The jury members include:

  • Angie Tijam-Tohid, Executive Creative Director at Havas Ortega Group
    Angie Tijam’s work has been recognized in local and international awards for creativity and effectiveness with more than 60 metals and distinctions. She was the only Filipino and Asian juror in the 2021 Young Lions Digital Competition at Cannes, and the sole Filipino jury member at The One Club for Creativity’s Young Guns 19. She’s currently on the 2022 D&AD Awards Entertainment Jury.
  • Dan Villegas, Director for TV and film
    Dan Villegas started as a cinematographer for TV, film and music videos before directing his first feature film, the indie award-winning Mayohan (Maytime) in 2010. In 2014, Dan directed the sleeper hit, English Only, Please, which won him Best Director. He has since directed box office hits for the biggest studios in the Philippines – The Break-Up Playlist, How to be Yours, and Always Be My Maybe. Dan still directs independent films in between his studio hits: critically acclaimed films Changing Partners, and Ilawod (The Water Spirit) which traveled to different international film festivals.
  • Dave Drilon, Chief Digital Officer of total Publicis Groupe PH
    Dave Drilon is an experienced professional with over 20 years working in digital through various startups. As the Chief Digital Officer of the Publicis JimenezBasic, he was tasked to transform the agency. In 2020, he was asked to organize and lead the Digitas PH startup which launched in the middle of the pandemic as the 50th site of the Digitas global network.
  • Digs Dimagiba, Chief Marketing Officer and Head of the Analytics, Brand, Communications & Marketing Technology (ABCMT) Group of Metrobank Philippines; President of the Internet & Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines (IMMAP)
    Prior to his stint at Metrobank, Digs Dimagiba was the first Country Director of Facebook Philippines from 2016 to 2017, and Country Director of the IT & Mobile Business Unit of Samsung Philippines from 2014 to 2016. He is also an incorporator and member of the board of directors of the H&D Group of Companies since 1999, and is currently the elected 2022 President of the Internet & Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines (IMMAP).
  • Golda Roldan, Chief Executive Officer, Wunderman Thompson Philippines; Chairman, 4As
    With more than 25 years worth of marketing communications experience under her belt, Golda Roldan has managed a comprehensive array of multinational and local brand leaders such as Unilever, Pepsi, Shell, and Globe Telecom among others. Wherever she goes, she aims to make things happen – by transforming innovative and creative ideas through immediate action. She plays an active role in local marketing communications by occupying key positions in the 4As Philippines, IMMAP Board of Directors and ASC Tech Committee.
  • Lyqa Maravilla, Educational Content Creator
    Lyqa Maravilla is an educational content creator, a motivational speaker, an author, a podcast host, and a registered psychometrician. Coach Lyqa, as her students and subscribers call her, is one of Youtube and United Nations Development Programme’s (UNDP) Creators for Change Ambassadors for Asia-Pacific Countries (APAC). She was also chosen by Creator and Influencer Council of the Philippines as the Education Champion in 2020.
  • Marius Talampas, Commercial and film Director at Arcade Film Factory
    Marius R. Talampas is a commercial and film Director at Arcade Film Factory, known for his comedic approach and out-of-the-box viral narratives. Since he started directing in 2018, Talampas has directed more than a hundred commercials where he made his mark for unorthodox and distinct style of storytelling. The ads he directed has since been awarded in Spikes, ADFEST, APAC Effies, LIA, CLIO, New York Festivals, AWARD Australia, Campaign Brief Asia’s THE WORK, and Cannes Lions.
  • Maye Yao Co Say, Chief Operating Officer at Richwell Phils. Inc.; President of the Philippine Association of National Advertisers (PANA)
    Maye Yao Co Say is a graduate of B.S. Management Engineering from Ateneo de Manila University, a graduate of M.B.A. from Asian Institute of Management and a licensed teacher, with a major in Early Child Development. Her lifelong passions are child education, literature, and making a difference. She currently writes for a weekly parenting column for Business Mirror, as well as a contributor to The Asian Parent.
  • Neil Trinidad, VP & Head of Cryptocurrency, GCash

    Neil Trinidad has over 18 years of experience in marketing, management, and sales across FMCG, tech, and e-commerce. Prior to GCash, he was most recently the Chief Marketing Officer of Lazada Philippines. She was awarded Chief Marketing Communications Officer of the Year by Tambuli Awards Asia Pacific in 2017.
  • Ryan Reyes a.k.a Ninong Ry, Content Creator
    Known as Ninong Ry, Ryan Reyes has taken over the social media with his mouth-watering recipe videos. He rose to prominence in the midst of pandemic after his video Sizzling Crispy Kare-kare went viral on Facebook – gaining over 632 million views and counting. He hooks his audience with his innovative cooking style with a dash of wit and entertainment.
  • Sol Romero, Managing Partner, AOR Head of the Nestle account in Openmind
    Sol Romero has been in the industry for 15 years with experience in Media & Marketing and has worked on multiple categories, markets and functions. She was previously the Country Media Manager of L’Oreal Philippines where she led the organization’s media and digital transformation. During her career, she handled global accounts across FMCG, F&B, Electronics, Travel, and Health & Pharmaceuticals. 
  • Trixie Diyco, Executive Creative Director at Publicis JimenezBasic
    Trixie Diyco is responsible for Publicis JimenezBasic’s creative department, handpicking the best and brightest talents in the Industry. As ECD, she engineered the turnaround of the agency’s creative reputation, winning top honors at the local Boomerang Digital Awards, the Tambuli Awards, ultimately enabling the Agency to take home the grand Philippines’ Agency of the Year Award. She was also inducted into the Guild’s Creative Hall of Fame by the Creative Guild of the Philippines.

YouTube Works Awards celebrates brands and brilliant talents behind the most creative and effective advertising campaigns on YouTube.

This year, there are seven categories in the competition:

  1. Brands as Creators
  2. Best Collaboration
  3. Force for Good
  4. Best Personalization
  5. Best Storytelling
  6. The Challenger
  7. Grand Prix

The Challenger award honors the brand that beat the odds with strong impact, while the Best Personalization award looks for a campaign that delivers the most creative and personalized ads through contextual targeting.

The entries will be screened by data and insight consultancy firm Kantar, who will look across all the cases submitted to surface insights and stats on what an effective work on YouTube means and what products and strategies were the most successful.

The eligibility period is from January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021. Applications are open until May 27, 2022. Submit your work here.
