CANADA – FCB Toronto created this heartbreaking ad for LGBT advocacy group PFLAG Canada about the joys of marriage denied to same sex couple.

The one-minute spot is a sad tribute to imagined weddings of gay couples from the past, as if taken by hand-held vintage cameras. It ends with the poignant copy “For all the memories that never happened.”

The campaign was launched in support of gay couples in the US anticipating the results of court proceedings happening at the Supreme Court on whether the Constitution protects the right of same-sex couples nationwide to marry.

Gay marriage is currently legal in Canada, as well as 36 out of the 50 US states and Washington D.C.
