MANILA – The Aspac Group has just launched a new digital agency called alt:/engine to expand its capabilities beyond just social media management and creating the usual digital asset.

In a statement, the agency will specialize in analytics and research, ideation and synthesis, user-focused design product testing, multi-platform coding and go-to-market and cross-media deployment strategies.

Alt:/engine  will be headed by Denise Luchangco (left), part of the inaugural team of Google Philippines where she worked as Agency Relations Manager.

She is credited with pioneering the Google 30-Day Challenge in the Philippines, the first in SEA. Prior to Google, she was part of McCann-MRM the year it won the 4A’s Digital AOY back in 2012.

“I wanted to start a company that aims to do digital the right way, taking into account the necessary pillars for developing solutions at scale: data, design, development and deployment.  These four elements need to be present in all our solutions, from the way we think and strategize to the way we do and execute our work,” Luchangco shared with adobo.

The agency currently has 12 developers working out of Cebu and 5 core team members here in Manila, including Intelligence, Business Strategy, UX/UI Design, Quality Assurance and Project Management.

“It was also important for me to build this type of company here in the Philippines.  So many of our good talents leave the country for better opportunities abroad, and I wanted to grow the kind of business where Pinoys would love to work; a place where they can deliver global-quality solutions from Philippine shores,” she adds.

She said that the agency is currently hiring to fill newly created roles like Business Strategists, who are expected to understand and assess the clients’ business, and the curiously named Director for Intelligence.

“I know it sounds very “CIA”, but that’s really not so far from the truth. This role is in charge of gathering market intelligence, synergizing varying data points, testing hypotheses and user experience, and ultimately generating robust insights from big data sets, whether qualitative or quantitative, whether from online or offline sources.”

Luchangco said that alt:/engine has hit the ground running with two unnamed clients. On what we can expect from the new digital kids on the block, she said:

“Design thinking, user focus, attention to detail, and holistic solutions. We love crazy, play curious, and live digital.  I’d like our clients to view us as partners that offer them fresh perspectives and transformative solutions that work.”
