MANILA – TBWA\Santiago Mangada Puno’s ‘Hana Water Billboard’ along with 180 entries made it as finalists for Lions Health Awards, Health & Wellness Category.
This campaign by TBWA has also recently won a Grand Clio Image Award, a Wood Pencil at D&AD, one Silver Pencil and two Bronze Pencils at One Show Awards.
Shokubutsu Hana is a personal care brand from the Japanese company, Lion that try to produce products that don’t contain chemicals that may be harmful to the environment. This water billboard that spelled ‘CLEAN RIVER SOON’ also did just that.
This first of its kind floating billboard was mounted on Pasig River, one of the most polluted rivers in the Philippines, and maybe even the world in February 2014. It’s made of Vetiver, a perennial, non-invasive grass often used to treat wastewater and stabilize landfills and garbage dumpsites. Based on research, a Vetiver system can clean up to 2,000 to 8,000 gallons of water per day.
