“805 Million Names” takes home 2 Grand Clio Sports Awards

New York – The 2nd annual Clio Sports Awards took place last Wednesday, giving out a total of 9 Grand awards honoring the year’s best sports advertising and marketing.

Forsman & Bodenfors from Sweden was the biggest winner, taking home two Grand awards in Partnerships, Sponsorships & Endorsements and Public Relations with the “805 Million Names” campaign for the United Nations World Food Programme.

The Clio Sports jury comprised of industry leaders including Scott O’Neil, chief executive officer, Philadelphia 76ers and John Miller, chief marketing officer, NBC Sports Marketing Group.

“In our second year, CLIO Sports has continued its growth as a global brand,” said Nicole Purcell, CLIO President. “Our winners this year include more than 35 international recipients representing sports creative featuring athletes in tennis, golf, football, hockey and many more. The powerful entries we received are a refreshing reminder of the rich talent that exists in sports marketing and advertising.”  

The July 8 ceremony also paid special tribute to the late ESPN anchor Stuart Scott with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Beginning in 2016, the CLIO Sports lifetime honor will be renamed the Stuart Scott Lifetime Achievement Award.
