Awards: My Papa Pi and The Broken Marriage Vow earn the Philippines three nominations at the 2022 ContentAsia Awards

SINGAPORE — ContentAsia, an objective and independent observer of Asia’s content creation industry, has released the complete list of nominees for this year’s ContentAsia Awards. For this third annual event, ContentAsia has spotlighted 91 shows, with two from the Philippines. 

The Philippines has been nominated in the following categories: 

  • Best Asian Comedy Show – My Papa Pi (ABS-CBN Philippines)

A Tumbungan-set comedy series centered around Pipoy (Piolo Pascual), a single father who will do everything to be with his only daughter, Mikay, that he even agrees to lend his body to the lost soul of his twin brother Popoy (Pepe Herrera), to accomplish his mission to ensure the happiness of his great love Tere (Pia Wurtzbach), and for his soul to finally cross over. But the problem is, Tere’s happiness is for Pipoy to love her. As Pipoy helps Popoy in his pursuit of Tere, Pipoy rediscovers his love for Tere, the undin he secretly loved back then.

Directed by Connie Macatuno and Andoy Ranay, The Broken Marriage Vow stars Jodi Sta. Maria, Zanjoe Marudo, Sue Ramirez, and Zaijian Jaranilla. A seemingly perfect home gets shattered by broken trust and infidelity, bringing forth catastrophic effects into the lives of the couple, their son, and everyone else involved. This is a story about a woman scorned.

Winners will be announced at an in-person event in Bangkok, Thailand on August 26 as well as in a live stream on ContentAsia’s Facebook page.
