Watching Seabiscuit videos feels like the beginning of a journey. The work comes at you with unforgettable imagery and emotional immediacy. At once, you are involved in this story.

The secret isn’t just in the visual finesse the directors imbue their work with, but in their keen emphasis on telling compelling stories. The company’s online channels (vimeo.com/seabiscuit and youtube.com/seabiscuitfilms) are packed with fresh, impeccably shot original videos.

Capture is a collection of breathtaking moving postcards from everywhere from Sweden to Bali. In Chaub, culinary treats from Manila and beyond become a feast for the eyes. Taste and Display introduce young restaurateurs and visual artists within the confines of their working spaces.

This year, Seabiscuit plans to push the boundaries of its storytelling by launching Natives, a new channel that brings “natives” of various fields into focus. Through short, stylish documentary features, the new channel will present the lives and work of different kinds of artists on their own terms. Shows in the pipeline include Sonic, a series where musicians do live covers in a studio and One Tank Adventure, a travel show where hosts must get around on just one full tank of gas.

At Seabiscuit, original content doesn’t simply serve to supplement commercial projects—it’s something the company considers absolutely necessary. As such, work is always a creative collaboration.

Erwan Heussaff is a regular collaborator, working hands-on with the company to produce videos for The Fat Kid Inside. Other web content collaborators include Anne Curtis, Clear and Rexona.

Even in the company’s most commercial projects, there are elements of the cinematic. Whether it’s a commercial for Nestlé, a travel documentary on Costa Rica, a video feature on Yardstick Coffee or a food series on Star World, every Seabiscuit video is crafted with directorial deftness and, at the heart of it, an attunement to the soul of the story itself.
