SHANGHAI, CHINA — Production company Sweetshop has promoted Catherine Law to Managing Director of its operations in China. Based in Shanghai, Catherine will drive Sweetshop China as one of the few international production companies to operate out of Shanghai producing content to an international standard, while also having an intimate understanding of local brands and agencies.
Catherine succeeds Laura Geagea who has been elevated to Regional Managing Director of Sweetshop China, Asia and MENA.
Catherine is a senior executive producer with more than 15 years of experience across agencies, production houses and cost consulting. A Hong Kong native, Catherine’s extensive industry experience has seen her run the music desk at Hong Kong Cable TV, work on films and produce award-winning commercial work on both production and agency sides throughout Asia Pacific and Mainland China. She has worked with global advertising agencies and production houses including, Leo Burnett Guangzhou, Ogilvy & Mather Beijing, Bartle Bogle Hegarty, Cheil China and Good People Basically.
Having worked with brands such as Sprite, Cathay Pacific, Vidal Sassoon, OPPO, Carlsberg, Ferrero Rocher, Catherine is able to work within teams under tight deadlines and communicate with clients in their language. Catherine has been an essential part of the Sweetshop team over the past few years working as a freelance producer and has been promoted from within to grow the business further.
