Ayala Foundation President Ruel Maranan recognized as PMAP Awards’ People Manager of the Year

MANILA, PHILIPPINES – Ayala Foundation President Ruel Maranan was recognized as the People Manager of the Year at the 2022 People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) Awards.

The award is given to an HR practitioner “who has imbibed and modeled the strategic role of human resources” in their organization and “continues to make a significant contribution to the development of the HR profession.”

Since joining in 2016, Ruel has led the transformation of the foundation, putting people-focused policies at the forefront. Under his leadership, the foundation implemented a talent transformation journey, capacitating the organization to answer the needs of its stakeholders.

He also created the AFI 3Cs 2Ps framework — Aligning and Focusing the foundation’s work to create Impact for the Conglomerate, Community, and the Country, all while supported by the organization’s People and Processes.

“I’m very humbled with this recognition, first and foremost because it came from the community that I chose to learn, develop, and continuously grow into,” he said at the PMAP Awards ceremony held on October 14 at Sofitel Philippine Plaza Hotel.

“I believe that I was given the privilege to be in the right role at the right time, at the right organization, with the right team, and more so, the right purpose and that is to do things for the greater good,” he added.

Ruel has been with the Ayala group since 1995, leading human resources teams in Globe Telecom and Manila Water. He received a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences at the Ateneo de Manila University and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Santo Tomas.
