MANILA, PHILIPPINES — On the occasion of its Manila office’s first anniversary, Vero, an award-winning Southeast Asia-focused PR and digital marketing consultancy, is launching nextGEN, its signature internship program, in the Philippines.

Vero officially set up its operations in the Philippines in October 2021, having recognized the country’s strategic role in helping brands grow in the region. Since then, it has been offering brand consulting, creative, data, and PR services to the Philippine market, tapping highly skilled local talents to conduct outstanding consulting work for its esteemed local and international clientele.

“Our Philippine office has seen incredible growth over the past year thanks to the team’s collaborative, can-do spirit and the strong support from our regional offices,” said Vero Philippines Operations Director Nicole Briones. “Over the past year, we got to work with some of the most reputable global brands in digital entertainment, educational technology, and computer industry, among others. We’ve also seen our revenue grow to half a million dollars and our team expand from 1 to 15 members. For the next phase of our journey, we’re very excited to help more brands extend their reach locally and regionally and to empower young and promising creative talents here in the Philippines.”

Inspiring the next generation of communications professionals

This year, Vero is officially launching its internship program, nextGEN, in the Philippines. Originating in Vero’s Vietnam office, nextGEN provides promising young people with a unique opportunity to take their first steps in their professional careers.

Through the program, students will gain exposure to real-world campaigns across the region, learn from dedicated training roadmaps, receive mentorship from different regional and local departments, acquire skills to adapt to hybrid working and work with award-winning, cross-cultural teams. They will also receive a monthly allowance and have an opportunity to travel to one of Vero’s regional offices for workshops. At the culmination of the program, the interns will team up to develop a full IMC-PR communications plan for a CSR campaign and present it to Vero executives across the region.

“At Vero, we want to take the internship experience up a notch and allow students to experience what it’s like to work in a leading communications agency day to day,” said Danica Marielle Vallano, HR Generalist at Vero Philippines. “We’re launching the nextGEN program in the Philippines just as the workplace evolves and becomes more innovative. Through this program, we aim to equip up-and-coming professionals in the country to adapt to new work norms, get a head start by building a solid foundation for their future careers, develop relationships with industry experts, and learn to embrace different cultures across the region.”

Some interns who took part in nextGEN have joined Vero as full-time employees, and many of them have since advanced to more senior roles within the agency.

“Vero nextGEN was a great opportunity for me to explore the communications industry, my capabilities, and my future career path. After completing nextGEN, I joined Vero as a full-time employee, taking on bigger projects and responsibilities as an IMC Account Executive and, later, as a Senior IMC Account Executive. After two years of being with Vero, I am now an Associate IMC Account Manager,” Nguyen Truong Yen Phi, the associate IMC account manager at Vero Vietnam, said.
