MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Non-government organizations (NGOs) play a vital role in addressing various social and environmental issues worldwide. For The Future, a Philippine-based NGO that focuses on nature conservation and provides aid and support to disadvantaged communities, has recently made significant improvements to its donation acceptance process.

With the launch of its new website on January 31, For The Future has implemented PayMongo Pages, a feature that allows for seamless and secure online donations. This has greatly improved the organization’s ability to accept and manage donations, making the process more efficient and convenient for donors. The new and improved website has consolidated all of For The Future’s initiatives and now allows donors to send money directly to their chosen cause with just a few clicks.

Traditionally, NGOs have relied on manual donation acceptance methods. However, this process can be time-consuming and inefficient.

For The Future started in 2019 with one project: reforestation. Over time, the organization collaborated and expanded to other projects such as solar lights and water filter distributions, food drives, and eventually typhoon relief. It was during the typhoon relief operations in partnership with Kids for Kids PH that they first experienced an influx of donations amounting to millions of pesos. The NGO, made up of a young group of friends, had to manually account for donations and confirm receipt with donors, on top of distributing relief goods.

The partnership between For The Future and PayMongo was first formed in 2020 as a way for the organization to process and automate donations. Prior to the launch of the new website, donations and correspondence with donors were coursed through For The Future’s Instagram account.

“As we expanded to multiple causes, we received donations that had to be segregated per project. PayMongo helped us maximize our time through Pages by automating donations. We are now able to expand to more projects like Climate Art Workshops and 88k Trees. This also opened up a big opportunity for us to collect a general fund to support the team running our operations. We can now focus on bigger initiatives simply with PayMongo helping us with accepting donations,” said Issa Barte, For The Future Co-Founder & Co-Art Director.

PayMongo is a payment gateway that enables businesses and organizations to process online transactions through various payment methods such as credit/debit cards, online banking, and e-wallets. It is a fully PCI-compliant and secure platform which means that all transactions are processed with the highest level of security and encryption.

The implementation of PayMongo Pages has also made it easier for For The Future to track donations and generate reports. This allows the organization to better understand its donor base and make informed decisions about how to allocate resources.

In addition to providing a secure and convenient process for the organization and its donors, the integration of PayMongo into For The Future’s new website has also helped NGOs move forward with the times and make use of new technologies.

“The use of technology like PayMongo has the power to revolutionize the way NGOs operate, making it easier for them to raise funds and support their causes. It is a great example of how technology can be leveraged to positively impact the world and help organizations like For The Future make a difference in the lives of those in need,” said Jaime Hing III, PayMongo Co-founder and CTO.

The partnership between PayMongo and For The Future continues to serve as an excellent example of how technology can help organizations improve their operations and reach more people. By using a secure and user-friendly payment gateway like PayMongo, NGOs can now focus on their core mission of making a positive impact on society.
