MANILA, PHILIPPINES — On its third installment, award-winning HR startup Workbean recognized companies with outstanding cultures, healthy employer brand health scores, and exceptional employee wellness programs through its 2022 Employer Brand Awards.

“The Philippines is about five years behind on employer branding maturity compared to our counterparts in the US and Europe, but that’s never stopped us from pushing the envelope to make significant strides in the market. We’re going to keep challenging the status quo to produce world-class employer branding campaigns and evolve global frameworks to fit the local market,” Kass Monzon, CEO of Workbean, committed.

The 2022 Employer Brand Awards revamped its two open categories: Dream Employer of the Year and Workplace Health Advocate. Entry submissions were assessed through four phases: application review, internal validations, research, judging, and online voting. Judges’ scoring accounted for 70% of the total score while online voting accounted for 30%.

Philippines AirAsia Country Head for People and Culture Kirk Patrick Alimaza, Coca-Cola Beverages Talent Acquisition & Employer Branding Head Michelle “Midge” Soriano, Kroma Entertainment Head of People Lee Cruz, Top 100 Filipinos on LinkedIn’s Patrick Dimayuga, and Your HR Beshies Founders Jamie Guban and Lowell Esponilla comprised the distinguished panel of judges for the Dream Employer of the Year award.

Kirk Alimaza shared his observation on the similarities among the top finalists, “What captured me the most was the effort they give to create a people-centric organization. It is evident that these companies take care of their people by providing meaningful work and valuing work-life balance. I am a firm believer that one of the key factors for a successful company is having happy and satisfied employees. They tend to go the extra mile because they want to give more contributions to an organization that cares about them.”

Coca-Cola Beverages Philippines Inc. (CCBPI) bagged the most coveted Dream Employer of the Year Award, putting its #PeopleFirst agenda as it champions employee value proposition under the banner of #ThirstForMore.

CCBPI’s People Vice President Oscar Medina Lorenzana shared their winning recipe: “Our people-first commitment defines us. Our people is the foundation and heart of our business. Keeping the needs of both our associates and the consumers who support us as a priority defines our actions. We are passionate in developing leaders of tomorrow, empowering high-performing teams, and fostering malasakit to our people and the communities we proudly serve.”

Home Credit Philippines brought home the Mental Health Advocate Award as it put a spotlight on the role of mental health and the overall well-being of employees in creating a safe and productive workplace. MindNation was the official judging partner invited to select the winner for this category.

Home Credit’s Chief People Officer, Alpha Omega Aquino described their strategy for a healthy workplace: “Taking care of our employees’ physical and mental health is important for a successful and thriving organization. When your team feels good, they work better, stick around longer, and are happier overall. Prioritizing employee wellness is not only good for the team, but it can also make the organization more attractive to top talent. Make wellness a priority, and you’ll bring your best self to work every day!”

Most Attractive Employer of the Year

For the second year in a row, kumu received the Most Attractive Employer of the Year Award. The social entertainment platform continuously rakes up the most viewership on Workbean’s culture directory while maintaining a healthy Employer Brand Health Score, powered by the HR startup’s internal brand health monitoring tool. Lalamove Philippines came in a close second, followed by Tala Financing Philippines in third place.

According to kumu People Success Manager Rose Ann Pulido, “More than the uncapped leaves and work-from-home setup — what really makes kumu an attractive place to work is our people and the community that we serve. Our mission to empower & support Filipino creators gives our krew a deep sense of fulfillment & ignites passion and commitment in everything that they do.”

Breakthrough Employer of the Year

Keeping the tradition alive, Workbean also recognized Omni Channel Solutions as 2022’s Breakthrough Employer of the Year. Despite joining later in the platform, the company proved to be on its way to breaking through the Most Attractive Employer spot in the coming years.

“As a company that’s eons away from most of our competitors in terms of size and numbers, we at Omni Channel Solutions believe that our passion to bring forward our purpose to make a difference and create an impact is what makes our company unique,” explained Arabelle Torres, Human Resource Business Partner for Omni Channel at Omni Channel Solutions. “Our success and growth over the past five years are attributed to our purpose-driven, people-first culture, which is ingrained in every team member who shares our philosophy of making a difference that transcends our organization.”
