Leo Burnett appoints Dheeraj Sinha as Chief Strategy Officer for South Asia

MUMBAI – Leo Burnett Worldwide has appointed Dheeraj Sinha as chief strategy officer of South Asia. He will be based in Mumbai and lead the region’s strategy team.

“With Dheeraj, we hope to get radical convergence around our purpose and radical divergence around how to get there,” said Saurabh Varma, chief executive officer of Leo Burnett South Asia.

With a career spanning 17 years, Sinha has worked on brands and business across markets such as Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam. He has experience across categories including consumer goods, finance, telecommunications and automotive, among others.

He has won the prestigious Atticus Awards three times and several effectiveness awards, including the Jay Chiat Planning Award, the Asian Marketing Effectiveness Award, the Yahoo Big Idea Chair, the Asia Pacific Effie Award and the Effie Award in India.

“There’s great energy around Leo Burnett in the region and I am looking forward to be a part of it and adding to the momentum,” said Sinha.

He is the author of two books on the consumer market in India: “India Reloaded – Inside the Resurgent Indian Consumer Market” and “Consumer India – Inside the Indian Mind and Wallet.”
