MANILA – A duo from Ogilvy & Mather has been selected to represent the country at next year’s Cannes Young Cyber Lions competition. Wacky Torres and James Mendoza beat out 35 other teams in the Philippine Young Cyber Lions competition to earn a trip to the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in 2017.

Upon receiving the brief on how to put a stop to sexting on Monday, October 10, all 36 participating teams were required to turn in their work the following day. Judging was held on October 12 with Y&R ECD Herbert Hernandez serving as jury head.

After four hours of high-level discussions among the esteemed jury, the judges were unanimous on the Gold winning entry, ‘Overage Sexting.’

“The quirkiness of the idea made it stand out,” said Hernandez. “It has a solid creative insight, a unique solution to the brief and the entry board showed good craftsmanship. We all agree that this is the best team to send to Cannes to represent the Philippines in the Young Cyber Lion competition.”
