MANILA, PHILIPPINES — The prestigious Good Design Award Philippines has opened the call for entries for its 2024 edition, championing the unique blend of outstanding design and the Filipino value of malasakit (compassion). This national recognition, initiated by the Design Center of the Philippines and the Design Advisory Council in cooperation with the Japan Institute of Design Promotion, is a testament to the country’s commitment to integrating compassion into the heart of design.
Distinguishing itself through the emphasis on malasakit, the Good Design Award Philippines spotlights the impact of design in achieving social, economic, and environmental sustainability in line with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Launched in 2019, it has established itself as the premier platform for design excellence in the Philippines, celebrating works that embody form, function, innovation, and a deep sense of compassion.
The award invites Filipino designers and innovators whose creations reflect these values to participate. This is an opportunity to be part of a movement that showcases exceptional design and the profound spirit of Filipino creativity.
The deadline for submission is February 29.
