MANILA, Philippines — Two competitions. One massive event. The Digital Marketing Association of the Philippines (DMAP) brings a refreshed Digital Young Creators Competition this year with two divisions: the inaugural Very Young Creators (21 to 30 years old, five years experience max) and the standard Young Creators (21 to 30 years old.)

“True to its purpose, DMAP Digital Young Creators has always been about helping grow young talents and giving them as many opportunities to showcase their potential and giving them more platforms to shine,” said Raymund Sison, Chairperson for DMAP DYC. “This year, we are excited to launch one learning bootcamp, where young creators get coached and mentored by the country’s creative captains and digital leaders. The bootcamp ends with two competitions where young creators get a chance to represent the country to international festivals.”

“We have partnered with MAD STARS and AdFest, two prestigious creative festivals in the region, to make the program even more exciting,” said Roman Carlo Olivarez, Director for Competition of DMAP DYC. “The winning team from the Very Young Creators competition will earn a spot in the MAD STARS New Stars Competition 2025 in Busan, South Korea, while the Young Creators winners will compete at the AdFest Young Lotus Competition 2025 in Pattaya, Thailand.”

VML Manila’s Paul Castro and Amiel Lumbang (2023 DYC Winners—2024 AdFest PH rep) quoted their experience and words to encourage young creators to join. Paul shared, “As a young professional in any field, it’s a noble quality to be driven to prove yourself. To cut your teeth and show everyone and, more importantly, yourself what you’re made of.

In our field, few platforms for young creatives are more challenging and rewarding than the DYC. To those who’ll step up to the plate: enjoy your time in the competition. Push your creativity to what your CDs and clients will never approve of, and leave nothing to regret.”

Amiel added, “Being in this competition means that your CDs see something in you, and you should hold on to that. To those who’ll join DYC 2024, keep it straight but crazy. Don’t pressure yourselves to win. Just have fun and go, grow, glow!”

The Very Young Creators competition is open to all young creators 30 years old and below, with 5 years maximum work experience in a creative agency, while the Young Creators competition is open to all young creators 30 years old and below. The competing pairs are tasked with coming up with a digital-at-the-core creative solution to a case given to them. The teams are given 48 hours to craft their entry.

DYC Bootcamp will be held on October 03 at Ayala Museum. The winner of Very Young Creators will compete at the MAD STARS New Stars Competition 2025 in Busan, South Korea and The Young Creators Competition winners will represent the Philippines at AdFest Young Lotus Competition 2025 in Pattaya, Thailand.

The DMAP Digital Young Creators 2024 is co-presented by Investing in Women, Ayala Foundation, and Meta. It is also sponsored by AGC Power Holdings Corp, The Pod Network Entertainment, Oddefy, Prodd, and adobo Magazine.
