LONDON – MediaCom leads the way for agency networks with an impressive 31 shortlisted entries for the M&M Global Awards, while Proctor and Gamble top the global advertisers list with ten.
Other agency networks to stand out in the shortlist, which celebrates the world’s best multi-market media and marketing campaigns, include PHD Worldwide, Starcom and MEC with 14, 13 and 10 entries respectively.
Key clients also doing well in this year’s awards with multiple shortlisted entries include Nestle, Unilever, Deutsche Telecom, Expedia and Shell.
The new look awards, whose ceremony will be the first to be hosted under Hope, the new blue whale structure, at the Natural History Museum on Thursday 7th Sept, also saw an increase in the number of media owners shortlisted for awards with the likes of NBC Universal, Facebook, Bloomberg, Viacom and The Economist all in with a chance of winning the sought-after trophies.
As well as having a new home the M&M Global Awards is set to push the boundaries with an immersive guest experience that will reinvent the traditional awards ceremony and will feature an engaging storyline that will develop before, during and after the night.
Christina Liessem, head of awards, M&M Global explained: “We felt it was time for a change. Being in this new and exciting venue allows us to reinvent the award show format and extend the definition of industry events. We are partnering up with Public Plank Productions, who are masters in organising immersive productions. Guests can expect a magical evening full of networking and surprises in one of London’s most beautiful venues, whilewinners will have a stage they deserve.”
In terms of geographic split the shortlisted entries came from all over the world with MediaCom UK, PHD US and MEC MENA dominating the agency offices.
The winners of the new special awards, Content Curator and the Talent Award, will be announced on the night.
