MANILA, PHILIPPINES — The 2024 Digital Young Creators Competition is going to be special, with Investing in Women and the Digital Marketing Association of the Philippines (DMAP) continuing their long-standing partnership to mentor, shape, and inspire the next generation of creatives.
“This year’s task for Digital Young Creators: Create with impact,” said DMAP DYC Chairperson Raymund Sison. “Creativity and technology are two of the most powerful forces in the world today, and they must be used in the service of humans. This year’s theme is a call to our young talents to use creativity and technology to create in ways that matter to people, communities, and businesses.”
The first division of the competition, for Young Creators (open to 30 years old and below) is co-presented by Investing in Women, an Australian government initiative that promotes gender equality in Southeast Asia. Investing in Women has been working with DMAP since 2021 to highlight the marketing and advertising industry’s role in promoting gender equality. This year’s brief will look for digital campaigns and solutions that will center on the important role of creators today in the community today.
“Young creators know how to sell by thinking creatively. For a couple of years now, DMAP DYC has been challenging participants differently by getting them to respond to social issues rather than a marketing brief,” shared Kim Patria, Campaigns and Communities of Practice Director at Investing in Women. “This is exciting because it helps creators realize that they play a much bigger role: They tell stories, shape narratives, and influence how people think and act.”
The second division, the inaugural Very Young Creators Competition (open to young creators 30 years old and below with less than five years of professional experience), will be held simultaneously.
The DYC Bootcamp and Competition Briefing will be held on October 03 at Ayala Museum. Participants from agencies, brands, tech companies, and start-ups will attend an afternoon loaded with learning sessions and mentoring breakouts from the industry’s best and brightest.
“The bootcamp brings together diverse perspectives, experience, and expertise not only from the panel of mentors and jurors but also from the participants. Diversity drives innovation. We expect that the exchange and contest of ideas will result in exciting, practicable, and impactful solutions to some of the most pressing challenges of our time, “ added Kim.
The winners of the DYC Young Creators Competition will represent the Philippines at AdFest Young Lotus Competition 2025 in Pattaya, Thailand, and the winners of the DYC Very Young Creators Competition will represent the country to Mad Stars New Stars Competition 2025 in Busan, South Korea.
The DMAP Digital Young Creators 2024 is co-presented by Investing in Women, Ayala Foundation, and Meta. It is sponsored by AGC Power Holdings Corp, The Pod Network Entertainment, Oddefy, Prodd, Jollibee, Enchanted Kingdom, and Emperador, with Media Partner Adobo Magazine and Industry Partners Adfest, Mad Stars, and One Asia Creative Awards.
