Two top creatives from Asia were named jury presidents for this year’s London International Awards (LIA), with judging to be held from September 29 to October 7 at Encore, Las Vegas. David Guerrero, Creative Chairman, BBDO Guerrero from the Philippines and Fred Raillard, co-founder, Creative CEO, CCO, FRED & FARID in Shanghai will lead the Print | Poster | Billboard | Ambient and Branded Entertainment juries respectively.
Raillard and Guerrero are joined by 25 other creatives from Asia to judge this year’s entries.
Under the Print | Poster | Billboard | Ambient category, three Asians will sit on the jury — Paul Chan, Executive Creative Director, Cheil Hong Kong, Eugene Cheong, Chief Creative Officer, Asia Pacific & Singapore of Ogilvy & Mather Asia Pacific Singapore, and Hakuhodo Tokyo Creative Director Masaya Maruta.
Meanwhile, Raillard will have one other top creative from Asia on the Branded Entertainment Jury — Jinn Powprapai, Managing Director and Partner, CJ WORX, Bangkok.
Two out of the seven-man Design | Package Design | Verbal Identity jury are from Asia, namely, Theseus Chan, Creative Director and Head Designer of Work, Singapore and Tony Liu, Chairman, Chief Creative Officer, M&C Saatchi aeiou, Shanghai.
Under the Digital category, Jung A Kim, Executive Creative Director, INNOCEAN Worldwide, Seoul, Sagar Mahabaleshwarkar, Chief Creative Officer of Cheil India, Gurgaon, and Yukihiro Tominaga, Founder, CEO, and Executive Producer, AID-DCC Inc., Osaka will sit on the jury.
Masaya Shimizu, Planning Director, Dentsu Tokyo, and Shahbaz Zobairi, Creative Director of MullenLowe MENA, Dubai will be part of the Health & Wellness Jury, while Amit Alkali, Chief Creative Officer, Medulla Communications & What’s Your Problem Brand Solutions, Mumbai will be judging entries under the Pharmaceuticals category.
Merlee Jayme, Chairmom and Chief Creative Officer of Dentsu Jayme Syfu from the Philippines is the only Asian on the Integration jury.
Three out of 11 jurors sitting on the Non-Traditional jury are from Asia, namely, Wei Fei, Chief Creative Officer, FCB Greater China, Shanghai, Walid Kanaan, Chief Creative Officer of TBWA\RAAD in Dubai, and Jureeporn Thaidumrong, Chief Creative Officer, GREYnJ United, Bangkok.
Under the Production & Post-Production and Music Video category, Keiko Ono, Executive Producer, Spoon Inc. from Tokyo is Asia’s representative on the jury.
One Asian creative will sit on the Radio & Audio jury, namely, Sandipan Bhattacharyya, Chief Creative Officer, Grey Worldwide India, Mumbai.
Under The NEW and Social Influencers categories, two Asians will sit on the jury — Valerie Madon, Chief Creative Officer for Southeast Asia, Havas, Singapore and Govind Pandey, CEO, TBWA\India, Mumbai.
The TV/Cinema/Online Film will have five Asian creatives on its jury, the most number for this year. These are Rajdeepak Das, Chief Creative Officer, South Asia, Leo Burnett, Mumbai, Gigi Lee, Chief Creative Officer, TBWA Group Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, Sachiko Nishihashi, Group Creative Director, Dentsu Inc. Tokyo, Kien Hoe Ong, National ECD, Y&R China, Shanghai, and Suthisak Sucharittanonta, Chairman & Chief Creative Officer, BBDO Bangkok.
In total, 27 Asian top creatives will be judging work from all over the world during this year’s LIA.
