JAKARTA, INDONESIA — Heineken®, one of the world’s leading premium beer brands, showcased an unforgettable experience at the Djakarta Warehouse Project (DWP 2024) from December 13 to 15, 2024, at JIEXPO Kemayoran. Marking its third year as the festival’s official beer sponsor, Heineken® introduced “Good Times City,” encouraging people to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of the city and to be present for good times moments. Heineken® invited DWP 2024 visitors to celebrate moments of togetherness and build genuine connections, enhancing the quality of socializing.
“Heineken®’s third-year collaboration with DWP post-pandemic stems from a shared passion for creating unforgettable moments for concert-goers. Through Heineken® Good Times City, we aim to bring good times to festivals in a way that’s not only fun but also meaningful. We put a lot of thought into every activity at the Heineken® booth to celebrate the return of DWP to Jakarta this year,” said Jessica Setiawan, Marketing Director of Multi Bintang Indonesia.
The Heineken® Good Times City raised awareness of eco-conscious practices, with 70% of its production materials being reused, repurposed, upcycled, and recycled. This year’s booth featured items from previous Heineken® events such as floors made from recycled posters, banners, and used wooden pallets, while Heineken® Brewery’s broken bottles were reprocessed into booth walls. The booth’s construction involved 440 wooden pallets, 2.306 glass bottles, and 350 cans of Heineken®.
In addition, Heineken® partnered with GudRnD, a local contemporary art community, to provide an artistic touch by designing the tables, chairs, backdrops, and flooring at Heineken® Good Times City using 7.5 tons of plastic waste, broken Heineken® bottles, and post-election banners that were collected from across Indonesia. The entire process took two months which involved 35 people and contributions from several waste banks.
“Music festivals are the perfect platform to drive collective action for positive change and raise awareness around waste management issues. GudRnD is proud to collaborate with Heineken®, where we can use our skills to tackle sustainability at DWP 2024 and create a difference for the future whilst inspiring the current generation,” said Mohammad Aldino, an artist from GudRnD.
Heineken®’s mission to combine concert experiences with eco-friendly values began at DWP in 2022 when it introduced the Greener Bar. In 2023, Heineken® presented the Good Times House concept. Both booths not only offered unique creative concepts for DWP visitors but were also built using recycled materials and involved collaborations with local artists and communities.
At DWP 2024, visitors got to enjoy the fun and interactive activities at Heineken® Good Times City, including a silent disco featuring top local DJs, a VIP lounge with exclusive views of the Garuda Stage, face art for a fun look, and solar panel charging stations. At the Scrap and Snap photo booth, visitors were able to receive AI-generated photo pins by exchanging an empty Heineken® can. Excitingly this year too, Heineken® offered an up to 40% transportation discount voucher for visitors who purchased Heineken® at DWP 2024 as part of their commitment to advocating responsible drinking. This initiative advocated their message “When You Drive, Never Drink”, ensuring festival-goers get home safely
