CEBU CITY – It is said that one man’s art is another man’s treasure. That’s certainly the case when the man in question is Francis Sollano. A “trashion” artist, Sollano is known for taking what can otherwise be viewed as garbage and turning it into wearable art. This has earned him international acclaim as his works have included sculptures, space installations, and portraiture on top of the previously mentioned fashion pieces.

On January 12-14, some of Francis Sollano’s works of art will be on display at Crisscrossings: Creative Convergence 2018. The creative communities of Cebu are coming together for three whole days in a series of creative talks and workshops, art installations, a Cebu music congress, an artist showcase gig, a creators’ market, and much much more. All roads will lead to Crossroads Cebu for this creative summit.

Aside from his art, Sollano also focuses on environmental and civic causes in his role as Executive Director of Youth for a Livable Cebu. Just as he recycles and rehabilitates trash into wearable art, Sollano sheds a light on the plight of aboriginal communities while his campaigns on climate change and urban sustainability have become inspirations for other communities to conduct similar programs.

For more of Francis Sollano’s trashion art as well as art and music created by some of Cebu’s finest, make your way to Crisscrossings: Create Convergence 2018.
